An Albertsons in Portland’s Bridlemile neighborhood will close July 1, resulting in layoffs for workers represented by United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 555 and Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union (BCGTM) Local 114.
The location employs 87 workers, according to a layoff notice sent to Oregon officials on April 30.
Workers were notified of the closure on April 29.
The store, located at 5415 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy., is the third Albertsons-owned grocery store in Oregon to close this year. An Albertsons in Roseburg closed in February and a Safeway in Baker City closed in May.
