As of Friday, Sept. 15, United Auto Workers will either have a tentative agreement or be striking around the country at General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis. Details of strike plans are still in flux, but if there’s no agreement, strikes will begin at all three companies when current contracts expire at 11:59 p.m. Sept. 14.
An Aug. 30 Gallup poll shows 75% of Americans support UAW’s demands — that highly profitable automakers end past concessions like two-tier pay schemes and pay that hasn’t risen in real terms in 20 years.
