Members of IBEW Local 48 employed at West Side Electric volunteered a Saturday to replace old fluorescent lighting fixtures at Parrott Creek Ranch, a residential program in Oregon City for troubled teen boys, ages 14-18.

The cost of light fixtures was $1,500. The Barnes-Allison Labor Management Cooperation Committee donated $1,000 and Platt Electric Supply kicked in $500.

Electricians volunteering were Patrick Haft, Mike Fletcher, Randy Roberts, Randy Eason, and Jason Scribner. Haft and Scribner are apprentices. Local 48 members Lee and Kathy Duncan helped round up donations and volunteers for the project, and they provided lunch.

“From the moment these guys got out of their trucks, until the project was done, they acted like they were getting paid double time and a half,” Duncan said.
