We’re sticking with Joe Biden, says AFL-CIO

In the wake of calls for President Joe Biden to drop out of the race after his June 27 debate with former president Donald Trump, national AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler issued a statement saying the labor federation continues to stand in strong support of him. The AFL-CIO, a federation of 59 unions, endorsed Biden for re-election at a special conference in Philadelphia June 2023.

“Labor runs on solidarity — and no White House has supported workers like the Biden-Harris administration,” Shuler said. “Under President Biden and Vice President Harris, workers are winning record contracts across the country with double-digit raises, new organizing is surging, good jobs are coming home to the United States, and pensions that millions of workers count on for retirement security are protected thanks to the American Rescue Plan.”

  1. This is an absolute TRAVESTY. If workers are winning record contracts, it is because *they* are holding corporate feet to the fire. The only time Biden ‘got involved’, he actively betrayed railway workers. I do not, nor will I EVER, support this or any other war criminal.
