Postal unions are applauding President Biden’s new nominee to serve on the Postal Board of Governors: Marty Walsh. Walsh is a Laborers union member, former Boston Mayor and building trades leader, and was Biden’s first secretary of labor. Now he’s executive director of the National Hockey League Players’ Association. The White House announced Feb. 29 it plans to send his name to the Senate for the postal board.
The nine-member Board of Governors is responsible for overseeing the executive management of USPS. Walsh would be the fourth Democrat to sit on the board, joining three Republicans and one independent.
when is Dejoy leaving?
Only the Postal Board of Governors can dump DeJoy. Who knows Marty Walsh? Can we convince him to lead the charge ? Stroman and Hajjar are anti-DeJoy but other Biden picks are not.
