The 1,300-member independent union that represents employees of Clackamas County is accusing its treasurer of embezzlement.
As reported by The Oregonian, Scott Vandecoevering — longtime treasurer of Clackamas County Employees’ Association — was also placed on administrative leave June 2 from his job as senior policy, performance, and research analyst at the county. Union officers didn’t say how much was stolen, but said they reported the incident to police and that they’ve taken steps to ensure nothing like that happens again.
