Support for ironworker injured on the job

Share

Ironworkers Local 29 is seeking donations to help an apprentice who was injured on the job. Antonio Miller Cortes had just finished five weeks of classroom training and was in Eastern Oregon working on a construction project for Coastal Steel when a bundle of bar joists tipped and fell on his left leg.

It was a serious injury, requiring surgery and over a week of hospitalization. Cortes, the father of a toddler, is expected to be off work for six months or more while he recovers.

Contributions can be made through the Ironworkers Credit Union at ironworkerscu.org/donate (specify Antonio Miller Cortes).
