Kennitha Wade

IBEW Local 48 member Kennitha Wade has been fighting a rare form of cancer, and fellow union members are rallying to support her.

Wade, 43, is well known in the local as an instructor and recruiter at the union’s training center and as former president of the local’s Electrical Workers Minority Caucus. Since April she’s been battling gestational trophoblastic neoplasia, a pregnancy-related cancer that in her case has been resistant to chemotherapy.

Supporters are donating to help with treatments, travel, and meals. Donations can be made online here or in person or by phone at IBEW and United Workers Federal Credit Union.
