Ironworkers Local 29: Forged in iron, bound in solidarity

Several hundred members, retirees, and guests turned out for an Aug. 16 banquet held by Ironworkers Local 29. Known as a pin dinner, it includes a presentation of commemorative pins that recognize length of service in the union. Pin dinners are a way to honor the work, the friendships, and the legacy of a local. Local 29 holds its pin dinner every three years at the Oregon Convention Center. Attendees this year also came away with a book celebrating the local’s history. Local 29 will turn 125 in 2026.
