Workers at the Cedar Hills location of New Seasons Market voted 70-51 to unionize with the New Seasons Labor Union in ballots counted Jan. 27. It’s the seventh New Seasons store to go union in the past five months.
The union formed in 2022 and is not affiliated with any other labor organization. With the latest win, it now represents over 900 workers.
The Cedar Hills store, located in Beaverton, is the first outside of Portland to unionize. A previous union campaign by UFCW Local 555 in Hillsboro fell short, but the union has contested the results and the National Labor Relations Board is pursuing unfair labor practice charges against the company related to that election. Â
