Cottrill and Wimmer contend for NOLC top office

Northwest Oregon Labor Council will take second nominations for its top office at its Jan. 23 delegates meeting. Executive secretary-treasurer, a full-time staff position, has been vacant since Thomas Mosher left in November. Two nominations were made at the labor council’s Dec. 12 delegates meeting: Retired longtime teachers union lobbyist Laurie Wimmer, and former IATSE Local 488 business agent Cdavid Cottrill. Assuming more than one candidate is still seeking the office as of the January meeting, an election will be held at the Feb. 27 delegates meeting.
