A group of 30 Multnomah County Health Department pharmacists have unionized with AFSCME Local 88.
The union on Feb. 22 filed paperwork with Oregon’s Employment Relations Board (ERB), looking to certify a new bargaining unit made up of all clinical and staff pharmacists employed by the county. The petition was withdrawn Feb. 28 when the county agreed to recognize the union representation, according to ERB.
The Health Department operates seven pharmacies in Portland and Gresham.
