All nine workers at the 101 Broadway E. Starbucks in Seattle voted for Workers United in ballots counted March 22, making it the first union Starbucks in the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, and the seventh unionized location in the country. Later that week, a Starbucks in Mesa, Arizona became the eighth.

Meanwhile, a 16th Oregon location has filed for an election—7001 SE Milwaukie. St., Portland.

Elections are underway at a handful of the Oregon stores. Ballots will be counted for one Eugene location on April 13 and five other Eugene stores on April 28. Workers at four Portland stores are scheduled to receive ballots beginning April 22 and will have them counted three weeks later.

At press time, nearly 170 Starbucks locations nationwide had filed for union representation, nine elections had been held and eight locations had voted to unionize.
