Mohlis, Riggs sworn in as Building Trades officers

John Mohlis was sworn in as executive secretary of the Oregon State Building and Construction Trades Council. He succeeds Bob Shiprack, who retired.

Mohlis comes from the Columbia-Pacific Building and Construction Trades Council, where he has been executive secretary treasurer since 2005.

Mohlis began his career as an apprentice bricklayer in Montana at Local 5. Later in his career, he served as business manager for Bricklayers Local 1 from 1994 to 2005.

Paul Riggs of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 48 was elected to finish out the executive secretary term at the Columbia-Pacific Building and Construction Trades Council that expires in December 2011. Riggs also was elected delegate to the Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council.

Additionally, Willy Myers of Sheet Metal Workers Local 16 was elected president. He succeeds Jim Pauly of Iron Workers Local 29. Pauly was recognized for his five years of service.

Matt Eleazer of Bricklayers Local 1 was elected vice president and Jeff Brooke of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 5 was elected trustee .

All three fill unexpired terms following resignations. All terms expire in December 2011.
