SAG-AFTRA’s annual public awards ceremony is set to stream live on Netflix from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23. Unlike the better known Academy Awards, the SAG Awards are just for actors. They honor outstanding performances by individuals and whole casts — in both film and television. And awardees are chosen by over 122,000 members of Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. The union represents actors, announcers, broadcast journalists, dancers, DJs, news writers, news editors, program hosts, puppeteers, recording artists, singers, stunt performers, voiceover artists, and other media professionals.

The ceremony also includes the union’s lifetime achievement award, which this year will go to actress Jane Fonda, 87.

Actress Kristen Bell will host this year’s event, which will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
