Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 925 has re-affiliated with the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO, the two groups announced Jan. 27.
The move adds over 12,000 affiliated members to the state labor federation, which says it represents over 500,000 union members in about 600 local unions.
Headquartered in Seattle, Local 925 represents workers at public universities, K-12 school districts, and preschools, as well as local governments and nonprofits.
The move follows similar re-affiliations of SEIU with the national AFL-CIO in early January and SEIU Local 503 with the Oregon AFL-CIO in December.
