A group of 85 workers at an Apple retail store in Towson, Maryland, became the first Apple workers anywhere in the United States to reach agreement on a union contract. The tentative agreement, announced July 26, will be voted on by workers Aug. 6.
The agreement provides for pay increases of 10% over three years, improvements in scheduling, and limits on the number of contracted employees.
Workers at the store voted to join the Machinists union in June 2022 and started negotiating in January 2023. Apple has about 270 Apple stores in the United States.
