Workers at the Fair Housing Council of Oregon voted 8-2 to join Communication Workers of America (CWA) in mail ballots tallied Oct. 5. The new unit, called the Fair Housing Workers of Oregon-CWA, includes 14 workers at the statewide nonprofit that protects renters and homeowners from discrimination while seeking a place to live.
CWA asked first for voluntary recognition but filed for an election with the National Labor Relations Board on Aug. 21.
