Robert Camarillo, Executive Secretary of the Oregon State Building and Construction Trades Council, began serving a new appointment Jan. 1: advising the Federal Reserve as a member of the Twelfth District Economic Advisory Council. Alongside 10 others, his role will be to provide information and advice to board members and managers of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco—about the state of the economy and developments in their industries and locales, as well as their perceptions of the Fed’s monetary policy. The council meets in person twice a year. Camarillo will be the only representative of labor on the council. Except for the head of the Latin Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas, the others are all business executives. The appointment, by invitation of the President of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, is for a term of two years.
