Workers at Fruit & Flower Rock Creek, a child care provider that unionized with ILWU Local 5 in March, ratified a contract with the nonprofit.
The contract covers 17 workers at the facility, which is connected to PCC’s Rock Creek campus. It’s a one-year contract that includes wage increases, just-cause and progressive discipline policies, and more. Workers unanimously approved the contract in late June and it took effect July 1.
It’s the first child care contract for ILWU Local 5, which is also negotiating contracts at Wild Lilac Child Development Community and Growing Seeds Learning Community.
