Northwest Labor Press brought on a new labor reporter Jan. 3, Colin Staub.
Staub, 32, has worked full-time as a journalist for the last seven years, first as a reporter for the Newberg Graphic, a weekly newspaper in Newberg, Oregon, and most recently for a trio of trade publications in the recycling industry.Â
Staub grew up in Southeast Portland and graduated from Cleveland High School. He edited a student magazine at Portland State University, and earned a bachelor’s degree in English in 2014. He pays attention to local politics, and identifies strongly with the goals of the union movement. He also has a personal connection to labor: His brother is a long-time union rep at SEIU Local 503.
