Frontline healthcare workers strike McKenzie-Willamette

Share

More than 400 frontline healthcare workers at for-profit McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon, went on an unfair labor practice strike Oct. 5-7. The housekeepers, certified nursing assistants, respiratory therapists, pharmacy technicians and others are members of Service Employees Local 49.

Workers are fighting for wage increases, improved job safety, and to stop the hospital from outsourcing jobs.

The Medical Center is one of only two Oregon for-profit hospitals and is owned by Tennessee-based Quorum Health Corp.
