Christine Frost, an attorney with the law firm of Swanson Thomas Coon & Newton, received the “Doug Swanson Outstanding Workers’ Compensation Attorney” award from the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) at their annual convention in August.
The award is presented when an OTLA member has exhibited the qualities and values that Swanson personified throughout his life. He is remembered for his dedication to the workers’ compensation system and his commitment to injured workers.
In accepting the award at the luncheon attended by Oregon litigators and Oregon House and Senate representatives, Frost recapped her legal experience as staff attorney for the Oregon Workers’ Compensation Board and as an injured workers’ attorney. She also summarized her current efforts to enact legislation to correct current deficiencies in the remedies available to injured workers, which limit injured workers’ access to justice.
