Nesbitt, Witt win AFL-CIO election

- The slate of Tim Nesbitt and Brad Witt has been elected by acclamation to the posts of president and secretary-treasurer, respectively, of the Oregon AFL-CIO.
O'Connor, Petroff seek re-election
at Northwest Oregon Labor Council
- Judy O'Connor, executive secretary-treasurer of the Portland-based Northwest Oregon Labor Council, and Bob Petroff, president, are teaming up to run for re-election to their respective posts at the state's largest central labor council.
Operating Engineers brace for
strike at Kaiser Permanente
- Strike notice was recently served on Kaiser Permanente Northwest by 52 members of Operating Engineers Local 701.
Engineers decertify at Frito
Lay
- Stationary engineers at the Frito Lay Inc. factory in Beaverton voted 8-3 Sept. 9 to decertify from Operating Engineers Local 701.
