- Members of Portland-based Service Employees Local 49 have "strongly approved" a new two-year contract with the Kaiser Permanente health maintenance organization.

- Newly-merged Painters District Council 5 has embarked on a five-state organizing drive and is offering a $100 reward for information on the whereabouts of a specific non-union contractor.
