toward strike
- Bus operators in the City of Corvallis and Corvallis School District are closer to a strike after Laidlaw Inc. barely moved on its proposal to members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 757.
Non-food employees at
Eugene Fred Meyer go union
- Non-food employees at a Fred Meyer store in Eugene voted to join United Food and Commercial Workers Local 555. It is the first Freddy's non-food department in Lane County to organize.
Multnomah County okays living
wage
- A resolution setting a wage and benefit floor of $9 per hour for contract workers, with a cost of living escalator, passed the Multnomah County Commission.
Painters win grievance against
Portland School District
- Fifty-two members of Local 10 will divide almost $25,000 in back pay starting July 1, 1998.
