Burgerville Workers Union reports that workers voted by a 93% margin to ratify their first ever union contract, with three-fourths of the roughly 100 workers at five unionized stores voting.

The contract stipulates three-month set schedules, parental leave, and up to two weeks paid vacation a year depending on seniority. It also mandates a new system for customers to tip, a grievance procedure, and an end to “at will” employment status.

The vote means the union’s long-running boycott of the chain is over, and union members are now encouraged to patronize Burgerville, especially at the five unionized stores: Convention Center, Hawthorne, Montavilla, Gladstone, and 92nd & Powell.
