Santa visits the children of iron workers

Iron Workers Local 29, their Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, and the Pacific NW Ironworkers Federal Credit Union held their 34th annual Breakfast with Santa party Dec. 7 at the Monarch Hotel in Clackamas.

Initially hosted during the difficult economic times of 1985, the special event was created to help make the holiday season a little brighter for ironworkers’ families. Since that first year it has become a very popular and eagerly awaited holiday event. About 400 Iron Worker family members and more than 190 children and grandchildren enjoyed a holiday breakfast, followed by a visit from Santa Claus. Kids 10 and under each received a wrapped present.
