The fifth annual Hot August Clay Shoot sponsored by Sunrise Dental raised $3,012.39 for both Labor’s Community Service Agency and Sunrise for Children, a program to help end child slavery and human trafficking. The event was held Aug. 25 at the Mid-Valley Clays & Shooting School in Gervais, Oregon.
First place went to the Machinists Lodge 63 team of Ken Kogle and his son, Zack, with a score of 307. Zack also was the top shooter, hitting 81 of 100 targets. Jaimie Garver, CEO of Portland Local 8 Federal Credit Union, was the top woman shooter, hitting 27 targets.
Top contributors were Carpenters Local 146, Machinists Lodge 63, Laborers of Washington, the American Federation of Government Employees Local 2157, Kaiser Permanente, IBEW Local 48, Roofers Local 49, and Sunrise Dental of Gresham.
