Knitting for Newborns
Paula Kingsbury (left) and Leanna Hakala (center), retirees from American Federation of Teachers-Oregon, join LCSA Executive Director Vickie Burns at the Beaverton City Library May 17 to crochet and knit items for newborn babies. The volunteer project is part of Labor Community Service Agency’s new Team Labor! program. The knitted items are donated to the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Clinic and Randall Children’s Hospital. The knitting group meets monthly, and volunteers are always welcome.
