Frank Regalado elected to head Elevator Constructors Local 23

Frank Regalado has been elected business representative of Portland-based Elevator Constructors Local 23. He defeated Bobby Dukes and Nick Essig in a special-call election to fill the post vacated following the resignation last August of Mike Casley.

Regalado served as business representative of the local from 1997 to 2003, when he was defeated by Casley. Casley was seven months into his second term when he resigned. Regalado was appointed interim business representative until the election.

Casley then ran for and won the office of president of Local 23. He defeated the incumbent, Tom Jodry.

Dave Tremain was re-elected vice president and Bob Pyne was re-elected treasurer.

Reo Anderson was elected recording secretary; Eric Lindquist was elected warden; and Regalado was elected correspondent.

Mike Bodendorfer and Greg Biornstad were elected to new terms on the union’s Executive Board, and Dave Hyde was elected to a new term on the Board of Trustees.

All terms are for three years.

Also serving on the Executive Board and Board of Trustees, but not up for election, are Russ Vollendorf, Don Hickman, Rene Behrendt and Brian Jenkins, and Karen Billion and Dale Taylor.

Local 23 represents 285 members working for 15 contractors in Oregon and Southwest Washington. It is celebrating its 100th anniversary in June.
