‘Health Care Fraud Squad’ hits streets of Portland

Over 100 union members engaged in an hour of pageantry in downtown Portland March 18 to protest price-gouging in the health care industry. Declaring the day “Health Care Justice Action Day,” supporters of Portland Jobs with Justice blamed hospitals, drug companies and insurance companies for out-of-control health care cost increases.

Cost increases have drained pockets and reduced quality of care for most Americans. Rallygoers, with heavy representation from Carpenters and Service Employees locals, heard words of support from Labor Commissioner Dan Gardner.

“Health Care Action Man” and yellow-caped members of a newly-launched “Health Care Fraud Squad” will be an ongoing group dedicated to exposing who is responsible for increases in health care costs and seeking justice for individuals harmed by high health care costs.
