Labor 'teach-in' attracts huge crowd

SEATTLE, WA -- A standing-room-only crowd enjoyed the "Teach-In on the Future of Labor" at the University of Washington. The event was planned by the AFL-CIO, Washington State Labor Council, King County Labor Council and Pacific Northwest Labor History Association to run in conjunction with the Northwest Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center on Memorial Day weekend.

This year's festival theme was Labor Arts and History.

The Teach-In offered academics, labor leaders and rank-and-filers an opportunity to exchange ideas about what is right and wrong with the workplace.

Singer/songwriter Pete Seeger and other national and regional artists were on hand at the Teach-In and Folklife Festival for concerts, dramatic presentations and visual art exhibits.
